Our 2024 Labor of Love recipients are Heather Stern Kaur-O'Reilly, Aidan Stern, and Ellis Stern. Heather, a Park Ridge resident for nearly two decades, is a single mother of two sons. Aidan (22), her eldest son, is a recent Maine South graduate, and Ellis (16) is a current sophomore. Heather has stage 4 MSS (“microsatellite stable”) colorectal cancer and is considered terminal. Tragically, like a growing number of young Americans today, Heather did not receive a timely colon cancer diagnosis, and by the time treatment began in July 2022, the cancer had spread throughout her body.
